Yeah I had it turned out that a Nexium a day stopped it and Zofran helped when I did get nauseous

I was just prescribed that Zofran and it helped me this morning when I was feeling nauseous.

Hey since your new take sometime and read some of the post surgery threads and you might find someone who's had some of the same problems. Now I will say the thread named My Pouch is Trippen, helped me to understand some of the nausea issues, and I found out that I had to watch really cold drinks, because I got bad cramps from it for about 20 mins, but I had not experienced vomiting. I pray that they find out whats wrong. Hangout here you will get a lot of info, and its soooo fun to be able to share with others in the same shoes. WELCOME!

Welcome.... My surgery was on 9/19. We started a forum called "September Members" we also started a Facebook support for our Sept people. We figured we would all be going going through the same things about the same time! Everyone on this site is awesome!

My esophagus was eroding. Still trying to figure out a medicine for me...uhg! They told me I could take Previcid over the counter till they can figure something out. Just open the capsule... Don't take it whole!

Thank you all for the advice :) the dr did prescribe Prevacid I just stared it I really hope that works for the nausea I've tried 2 different types of meds they don't seam to work. I'm really starting to get irritated because dry heavies are no fun

Early on I had a lot of nausea and some vomiting. I learned (a suggestion from this site) that I was nauseous when my pouch was empty. I didn't feel true hunger, but if I had a little something (I.e. Carnation Instant B'fast - sf) it helped quash the nausea. It seems counterintuitive - to eat/drink when you're nauseous, but it worked. Good luck!

I remember years ago, and I mean many, when I was pregnant, I didn't get morning sickness (or all day sickness) as long as I had something on my stomach. I really think your suggestion is a good one. Just a little something (that is allowable of course) and maybe that could help.

One of my friends suggested that so I tried it it worked for a few days but now I'm back at it.

Today had been a awful day for me been vomiting all day and I've had a extra dry mouth I drink Water but it makes it worse I'm so ready to break down.

I ask because a friend I met during this process who also had RNY (a few months after me) had the same issue. To the hospital with dehydration 4 times, anything she ate or drank she threw up. For her, the problem was a large hernia in her esophagus. It happens in 4-6% of RNY cases. They had to do the endoscopy/edg to see it -

I had X-ray done and a ultrasound and everything came back good. Dr prescribed Prilosec and zoefran I think that's how it's spelled but its for nausea but so far not working

At about 3 weeks post op I had insane nausea and I was in hell. It took a couple of test but it ended up being my gallbladder. I had no pain but I just felt like I had the worst morning sickness!! It took a week to feel normal again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
