Pre-Op: I'm Having A Bad Day :(

Recommended Posts

So today started with me sleeping in and missing the bus.

so I grabbed an Optifast bar and got on the next bus which almost drove past me cos a rubbish truck was in the bus stop. I then got on the bus and found my pre-paid bus card had no money on it. there goes all my change.

So I chew on my optifast bar, check my bank account to find I havent been paid.

RAGE

so distracted I press the buzzer early and have to get off the bus in a haze of rage and being amd at myself for pressing the buzzer

to find that my 1 real meal for the day - grilled snapper, spinach salad with Jalapenos, spring onions, Tomato and lemon, has been left on the bus in my pretty strawberry shaped bento box.

FUCK

get to work, find out I will have to take my recovery time from the operation as leave without pay.

double fuck

Then there was morning tea - Angel food cake, crackers and dips, chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter-butter cream icing, crackers and dips and lots of delicious stuff... which I avoided and ate a single strawberry.

and now I have to go question a contractor who may or may not have been over charging us for hours.

I wanna cry

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I just had my emergency Optifast bar sitting out in the sun... Sunshine makes things a bit better.

Any hope to recover your bento box? I was thinking of using one of those to pack lunch...neat idea. Hope today goes better for you.

My friend heard I lost it and went and got me a new one - he's so sweet! it really perked me up. What I really love about bento boxes is that they have sections and compartments - definately worth the (very minimal) investment.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I really needed the support yesterday. I think I hit the point where my body is switching processes so was quite an emotional baggage before all the crap was dumped on me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
