"Golf Ball" uncomfortable to "Bottomless Pit"

I agree with both Tricia and Leatha!

I love pizza. I used to eat three or four pieces of a large pizza.< /p>

Now I only eat the topping off of one slice. But, I am full after that so what difference does it make?

All I need is to not be hungry and to get slim and the band has accomplished that for me with a little help from me. (Almost slim at least.)

Later.! :)

This has been a very helpful post.....I too have had this golf ball feeling. It pops up when it wants, most of the time it is from not paying attention to what i am doing....EATING.....eating to fast, dried food, drinking unconcouisly, then it is to late. My understanding of the band for losing was that it will be a lot slower than RNY that was a major reason for me because I want my skin to slowly change also.....I was banded 05-03-04 Baton Rouge by Dr. Bellanger 219/190 now. I am down only 29, more to come but it is also giving my brain the time to ajust to the new me that is coming.......I finally found some support to...I did not get it from where I had my surgery they are still stuck on the RNY....went to a meeting and never went back told my husband there was nothing but a bunch of pissed off fat women there (i can say that I am Fat and a woman) but I am determined to change that and not use it as a crutch......Candy Hang in there hun don't blame the band yet you've lost just give your esophogus and stoma a rest for a few days and try what you ate another time you just not tolerating it yet......scrambled eggs for me still........and that was the first thing solid they told me to eat.....Good luck on your journey....Just curious how much Protein are you drinking a day......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
