My Pouch Is Trippen

Recommended Posts

That is so funny you guys mentioned the old pouch making noises! I thought I was going crazy lol. I'm 16 days out and the growling started yesterday- at least that's when I really noticed it

Has anyone else had a funny acting pouch the first week out.

I wii have to admit that when this conversation first started I really did not have any pouch craziness that I thought I could tell. Then I went to the doctor today and told her that I got real nauseous after drinking Water. Then she said, was it cold and I said of course. So now I'm aware that my pouch is crazy acting also. Just need to watch the cold stuff for awhile, she said it only does that in the beginning stage of the pouch. So good news it gets better along the way! HURRAY!

No I haven't but I thing the peppermint tea was smart and a good idea. You should start a thread where people can post good ideas that help and post that. I'm sure everyone has something cool that can help others.

Surgery date October 10' date=' 2012 converted from Lapband to RNY, begin weight 230, preop weight 219, now Oct. 18, 2012 weight 213[/quote']

Great idea. I'm just starting my journey and already have a list of things I'll need before, at the hospital, and after surgery. This tea is going on my list :)

I am so happy I found this site.

I'm not sure my pouch likes very cold crystal light....it pretty much made that known immediately with weird monster, alien-like sounds!

My surgery was 12 days ago so I am still on Protein Shakes. Every single time I take that first sip and it hits my brand new baby pouch, the old stomach growls and growls, then it stops. My kids say it reminds them of our obnoxious cat that meows and meows until he's fed. LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
