Bert_n_ernie 60 Posted October 19, 2012 I'm paranoid I'm eating too much. I had been having trouble keeping stuff down, puking almost every time I ate. Then literally overnight, I'm able to eat again, and actually keep it down. I ate an entire cup of Soup tonight, no prob. This morning I had 3 oz of ham. I have been chewing & pacing myself. I'm just wondering if I'm eating too much. I'm almost 3 months post op. New Life Started 07/24/

LovinIt 42 Posted October 19, 2012 Keep a log with everything you eat & calculate your Protein & carb intake to make sure you're getting all you need Sent from my Galaxy S III using RNYTalk Ditto...I'm really worried about overeating too. I record everything (MyFitnessPal) A staple meal for me is; 1/4 cup edamame & 1-2 ozs beef jerkey. At 51/2 months out I'm starting to get some hunger pangs so I'm trying to eat every 2 1/2 hours. I can and have eaten a cup of Soup as long as it's not to dense. Good Luck to you
Bert_n_ernie 60 Posted October 19, 2012 I log everything in my fitness pal & I'm always under my calories but I'm just paranoid I've stretched my pouch. Even though my surgeon has assured me that's hard to do. I was able to eat 1/2 cup (chewed very well) tortellini & almost a full (small) slice of garlic bread. I'm still losing so I'll try not to worry too much. New Life Started 07/24/12 1 lili2012 reacted to this
kristy3k 1,133 Posted October 20, 2012 I personally would concentrate on Protein and stay away from the carbs. 8 months out and I dont eat any bread... one it hurts and two empty calories. I know that protein helps you stay fuller longer. Just my 2 cents. 1 Vicki Loichinger reacted to this
Mrs.D 39 Posted October 21, 2012 I agree, avoid Pasta and bread. Stay high on protien and low on carbs and you will be good:)

Ocean0527 23 Posted October 21, 2012 Can someone tell me if bread is allowed.. and if do what kind? I'm about 8 weeks out.. It really seems to depend on your surgeon. Some are very strict, no carbs sugar etc. Some surgeons, mine included, have very few if any restrictions. I had three weeks of full liquids after surgery and then I was given the ok to stay trying things. At this point, 4 1/2 months out, I can have anything I like in moderation. I have to make sure I get between 40 and 60 grams of Protein per day and he recommended I eat five small meals per day, between 1/2 and 1 cup at a time. I can have have bread, but more than one bite and I don't feel so hot so I avoid it. I have to say it's all worth it though, I'm down 69 lbs so far and I feel amazing! Uniqueladybug 80 Posted October 26, 2012 At the start I had a hundred pounds to lose. My surgeon said he wasn't too concerned about carbs or calories right now since I didn't have hundreds to lose. They want me to focus on Protein and fluids. I have had complications but nothing related to my diet. CHECK WITH YOUR SURGEON AND/OR DIETICIAN! There is no set standard (for anything, I'm learning.) I can eat anything and it does not effect me. bread sugar ect. I have to choose to stay away from most of that. I was asking my dietician on Tuesday if she thought I could be eating to much and she said as long as I am not eating until the full feeling that I am doing well. I get in anywhere from 500 to 800 calories a day and 60grams of Protein on most days. My biggest frustration is that I still not getting enough water:-) . Thank you for posting this as I am curios to read others responses.
