Need Some Feedback-- Slow Weight Loss :(

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone..

I'm 5 weeks post op and only lost abt 20 lbs:(

I take my Vitamins, at least 60g of pro daily, I do have room for improvement with exercise & Water intake. I am just so disappointed... I expected so much more! Surg-9/11...SW=244. CW=224

I would appreciate any feedback. Anyone else experience such a slow start??

I am feeling disappointed too. I'm only 3 weeks post op but I already feel like I'm stuck at 18 pounds lost. I'm doing all the stuff required except a solid work out where I sweat, but I'm still experiencing a moderate amount of pain. I've even used Spark People to track my calories and Protein and I'm usually under 800 calories a day in fact I'm usually around 400 to 500. I almost feel like retreating to the preop liquid diet, I lost 9 pounds in 9 days. It is maybe too soon to expect too much?

Well I am trying to convince myself that I am just getting off to a slow start. However, it still makes me upset! Im doing everything but exercising everyday..I would have thought that living on 500 cals or less would default to losing weight. If I had exercised everday b4 surg... prob wldnt have needed it then... i guess i didnt realize abt the whole exercise component...

ok ladies... patience is key. You have dealt your body quite a blow. Follow the program and the results will follow. Protein should be between 60-90 grams a day. Water and exercise are also very important. Your body will release the fat when it is good and ready. You guys just have to stay strong and do everything you are supposed to do!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
