LittleMermaid 0 Posted February 4, 2007 Can you damage your band if you get hiccupps? Thank you That's a good question! Since my second fill I it always happens everytime I eat or drink something. I'm not sure if it's because I'm eating or drinking very fast. Maybe I'm not doing things right. Can it damage the band?
giveyouthemoon 4 Posted February 4, 2007 I don't think that the hiccups themselves hurt the band but you have to take a look at why you have the hiccups. For me, they are a sure sign that I've eaten too much and it's my diaphragm trying to shove the food down. THAT part can hurt the band, eating too much. But if you've got a not too full tummy and they just come along...nah, not going to hurt the band.
Poodles 0 Posted February 4, 2007 I get the hiccups often, even 6 months post op. It is a sure sign of when to stop eating, or if I am stuck on something. I hate the hurting hiccups the most!!! I don't think it will damage the band, or at least that is what I have read.
