I'm pretty sure i had mild food poisoning yesterday. Tomorrow i will be 3Weeks post op. I was on my lunch break tried to eat half a pouch of tuna that i had opened 3days prior well i think it sat out too long cause i doubt it even made its way to my pooch felt like it say in my chest couldn't eat half of it in 30 min. Got up to go back to work and all of it came back up. had some tea and finished my shift. When i got home i slept and feel fine today. The tuna smelt fine and had no mayo before surgery my stomach could handle it i guess its super sensitive now..

Sounds like more of a parasite. food poisoning takes days for it to show up. Either one is no bueno but one requires a trip to the hospital and one just requires a few rolls of tissue and a wastebasket.

tuna and chicken do not sit right with me, I am 6 months post op and they still don't go down right. I avoid them totally now. I was eating low fat chicken and rice Soup, had a piece of chicken.. chewed, and chewed and chewed it and about 5 minutes after I swollowed I got sick. I have sworn off chicken and tuna all togehter now ,,,, I think its the texture for some reason.

I ate it a few times last week with no problem. Even my nurses at work agreed that's what it was. I had turkey and a cheese stick today and did fine.

so what are you guys eatpost op if you can eat ckn I'm really concerned about what I'm going to be eating afterwards.... do you really have to chew your food to puree style before swallowing or is this just something every body experiences differently

It just kinda depends. I MURDERED a garden salad and I guarantee each bite did not get down to applesauce conaistency. But certain foods (like meats? Chew chew chew)

Glad your better food poison last about 24/72 hours & you would be in the hospital. Thanks god it wasn't that.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
