Great! I'm 2 weeks post op and this morning I feel like I'm starting a urinary tract infection. I am uncomfortable so I took some pyridine to try to ease the symptoms. Hoping this wasn't something I'm not supposed to take. Ughhh!!

at two weeks out (im now 6) my pee turn to very very red which was a bit scarey, i think it scared the nurse more than me as she made me pee a few times to check. i call my surgeon to see if this was normal, and he said that due to the amount of gall stones i had (he removed my gall bladder in my revision from lapband to rny) that it was likely one or so stones escape and making the bleeding. he told me it was normal.. and told me to take antibiotics (which was the size of a horse pill - had to break them into 8 pieces and take them...distgusting!!!) and it cleared up after a few days.

i still get sometimes a small amount of blood in my urine but without any pain or discomfort. im not sure it this is still classed as normal ... hmmm maybe i should check it out anyway.

maybe you can find some sugar free cranberry juice to drink to help... feel good

I'm drinking no sugar added cranberry juice mixed with equal parts Water. My doctor allows us to have natural sugars. Just waiting on the doctors office to open so that I can call and maybe get something to help clear this up.

I have had 3 UTI since surgery. My obgyn said it is normal because of our decreased Water intake and we are getting rid of keytones. She gave me pills to take three times a week to help things out.

Oh you poor thing.... I would contact your surgeon and make them aware of your reoccuring UTI's. I would have extra meds on hand as well. Feel better !!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
