bikinibound 6 Posted October 20, 2012 I was panicked about Hair loss. Starting taking Biotin but stopped because it was giving me more hair everywhere! After talking with my surgeon I felt reassured that the hair loss would be temporary. Definitely get your Protein in...it is mostly what your hair is made of. My hair has always fallen out even before surgery but has never been thinning. At 4 months post op it starting coming out like crazy...my hair went from full to fine. I didn't have any bald spots or anything just less hair all over my head. The good news is it stopped at 6 months or so, now at 7 months post op I'm back to my pre op shedding amount. Can't tell if it is helping any or not. But figured it couldn't hurt. I used to have very thick hair but after each child (four sons) I lost it by the handfuls and for the past several years it just keeps getting thinner and thinner. So I figure I will be bald after this surgery. Wonder how I would look in hats? lol
judid 54 Posted October 22, 2012 I have been taking Biotin since 3 months before surgery. I've always been able to get in enough Protein and for the last month silica for hair. I've been using Nioxin products for the last five years as I have very thin, fine hair. I am almost 5 months post op DOS 5/29 and have experienced no hairloss so far. I am prepared for the posibility but so far so good.

worm2872 635 Posted January 8, 2013 It's normal for the hair to fall out... Yes, we will lose some. Surgery is such a shock to the system plus just eating less. Our poor bodies. We just have to be deiligent and make sure we do all we can to minimize the loss AND take care of ourselves.
