Strange!

The people who believe most strongly that they have an unqualified right to have firearms state two needs for guns: Protection from the criminal element and the "Second Amendment's" stated purpose of needing firearms, which is to overthrow an oppressive government.

Yet, I find that the ones who are most adamant about that need are also the most easily swayed by government's arguments to oppress us in the name of security.

I'm a second amendment person though I don't own a firearm and probably never will. I just don't want the military and the police to have all the guns. I don't trust the military and police because they have to use force to accomplish anything. I remember who had the guns in Hitler's Germany and it wasn't the ordinary people.

We Need Government Control Not Gun Control

"The
most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to posses arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so."

Here's a question for anti-gun people:

"Would you be willing to put a sticker on your car window or the front door

of your house saying 'I am an anti-gun person--there are no guns in this

[car/house]'"

I'm not necessarily anti-gun, and yes - I would be willing to put that on my door.

Thats what makes this a great country, the right to choose.
That's somewhat of an ironic statement, IMO. In many cases, the same people (not saying you, necessarily) who advocate the rights of Americans to choose to own or carry a gun are the same people who advocate revoking a woman's right to choose.

I'm not looking for an arguement, nor do I advocate prohibiting anyone from making "choices". Live, and let live. I just prefer to make my own choices, (and gun ownership is one) as I support anyone, and everyone else making the choices that are best for them, whether I agree, or disagree. Once again, thats what makes this a great country, (for now).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
