Recommended Posts

Ok, so first off I'd like to say Hello! I've been reading a few stories and responses and everyone on here is truly amazing!

I'm attending a mandatory info. seminar before I can even have my first visit...has anyone had to start off this way? If so what was your journey up until surgery day? I have Tricare prime remote North Region. I'm so anxious to hit the ground running! :)

Hi! I am brand new to this too. Already had my seminar, and now I am awaiting an appt. with my family doctor to start a 6 month physician assisted diet program as required by my insurance company. At first, I was really disappointed that I would have to wait longer for my surgery, but I am happy either way to get the ball rolling in the right direction. I have to lose weight anyway, and I have to start somewhere! So tired of yo-yo dieting, and ready to start a new life!! Good luck to you!

With my ins, I didn't have to do an inso seminar but I have to go through a 6 month program. I had my first apt last week and there are various steps I have to do/go through each month. I also have to loose 10% (25lbs). I have lost 8 since the 4th. I pray i can keep it up. The weekends are my hardest when I'm with my kids & we are running all over the place. I also have fibromyalgia, a bad back & a bad knee so exercising is really tough. II am really hoping to have my surgery at the beginning of April.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
