In The Hospital Again!

Recommended Posts

Im back in the damn hospital :( really hoped that this would happen. Woke up and had dark tarry stool. Right away I knew this wasnt right by anymeans. My regular doctor didn't think much so I went to my bariatric center and the admitted me to te hospital right away. Turns out I have a big ulcer which I can't figure out from what because I don't use alcohol or smoke or take medications. So now I'm back and dehydrated because my nurse unplugged my IV machine and never started me back up.. So I have had half a bag of Fluid all day :( and alls she said was ops in sorry I just got busy! Now I'm dealing with all sorts of xrap and they took away most liquids for me! I can only have broth :( lame!!! Oh and they started me on an anxiety medication because all the blood work and needle poking they were doing to me made me feel like I was having a nervous break down and I couldn't stop crying!

Did they say what is causing the ulcer? Did they do tests to see what's going on?

I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. I feel so loved know you all care!

They have no idea how I got an ulcer and considering my hemoglobin is still dropping a little they have me on medications to decrease my stomach acid and gases and some to coat my stomach. Im pretty dizzy so I'll for sure be here tonight again and possibly tomorrow. They did the edg? (the one with the camera scope down your throat) and they said its not bleeding anymore but there is a clot that I'll probably pass so of I have a few more stools not to worry to much. And they said I can't eat Atkins protine bars anymore (boo) and I have to up my protine to help heal this as well. They also said I'm not eating enough and I'm losing a little too fast which I don't understand because I feel like I'm keeping up with everyone else! Ugh. Here's hoping I'll be out tomorrow

Sending you positive thoughts and prayers for healing. Hang in there. This is rough. But I am so glad you are getting the treatment you need. Rest and let them pamper you a bit. Gentle Hugs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
