Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted October 11, 2012 Hoping your Doc tells you to ease back into work. 12 hours sounds like an eternity when you on your feet and still healing. Good luck. And bless your heart for being a nurse. You are appreciated. And soon they are going to think you grew wings the way you will fly around that ER.
BBdoodle 483 Posted October 11, 2012 I went back to work a week after surgery but I work at a desk and worked 1/2 day in the office and 1/2 day at home so it was easy. But standing on your feet and working 12 hour shifts is tough even when you are not healing from surgery !!!! I think sometimes you have to ease yourself back into that type of schedule not just go from resting and recouping to a full blow work schedule. Take your time and heal.. Are you getting in your Protein ?
NurseTAB 65 Posted October 11, 2012 Yup getting all my Protein, I should of went back at 6 weeks now that I'm back to work and realizing how much mental and physical work I have to do I'm just not ready yet but it's to late have already started back. Will do the best I can to make it through I need the money to I am the only income in my house and had no short term disability. Just got my bill from the hospital have to pay 744 dollars for surgery and hospital stay, to my surprise without insurance it would of cost me close to 43000 thank you health benefits. 1 virgie reacted to this
