JustJenn 542 Posted October 10, 2012 I don't know... I always have head hunger and it drives me crazy. I try to drink Water and take bites of a Protein bar. Curious if it ever goes away?! But my hunger time hits when I'm home before dinner time. Surgery 7/25/
kristy3k 1,133 Posted October 10, 2012 My experience was about month 3... but had to give myself a stern talking to. I have found other things to occupy my thoughts and exercising much as it pains me to say, does help...cuz the damn endorphins really do kick in. 2 BBdoodle and snow25 reacted to this
DLCoggin 1,788 Posted October 10, 2012 Everyone is different so it's difficult to put a timeline on it but yes, I think you'll find that it will become less of a problem with time. I wrote a post a while back titled "Managing Hunger". You might find some helpful ideas - http://www.rnytalk.com/topic/1493-managing-hunger/page__fromsearch__1 . babygirl901 173 Posted October 10, 2012 I'm 3 1/2 out and I have good and bad days. It's worse on days I don't get Protein Shake in the morning.

snow25 188 Posted November 12, 2012 I am going to try to keep myself busy... Which is not hard since life is crazy busy anyway. I want to add morning and afternoon exercise to keep busy during danger head hunger times. For me when I get home from school in the afternoons I always snack. I'm trying to cut down on that pre surgery, so maybe it will help head hunger. I think I'm also going to buy something super cute and hang it in my room so I have motivation to fit into it. Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted November 12, 2012 I am still pre op but I think my time for the head hunger will be late in the evening. It is now, Like when the house is quiet and everyone is in bed, I want to raid the kitchen and eat things I know I shouldn't. I have been doing a lot better the past few months, but I just know that is when the head hunger will rear its ugly head.
snow25 188 Posted November 12, 2012 Vicki, That's a hard time because you can't really replace it with exercise... Or at least i would not be able to. I'm tired by the end of the day. Hmmmm. Maybe a nighttime activity..knitting, guitar, learn a language, just throwing out suggestions.
