douchewafflebear 160 Posted November 17, 2012 With the bypass you will have to have sugar free or no sugar added for the rest of your life. If you eat something with high sugar content you will get whats called dumping syndrome. Vomiting' date=' severe cramping and diarrehea. My doctor told me I shouldn't eat anything that has more than 4 grams of sugar if sugar is the third ingredient in the product.. I have stuck with that since my surgery which was 3 months ago and honestly you can't taste any difference with the sugar free. There are a few things I don't like. I don't care for instant sugar free pudding or swiss miss sugar free hot cocoa. You still have to watch the calorie count because sugar free does not mean calorie free.. With any of the procedures it is a complete life style change. But it is well worth it. I feel so much better, can do alot of things I couldn't do before. I have lost 70 lbs since my surgery. I no longer have diabetes and I should be off by blood pressure medicine soon.[/sup'] SOME people will - some won't - have a good friend who does NOT dump - the actual statistic is 30% of patients dump I'm pre surgery - and diabetic - and that sugar free stuff flys right thru me - I have it when I'm constipated - so I know all the sugar free stuff doesn't agree with me already There is no one size fits all - and in the end - none of us can tell you what will happen to you
