btb2013 84 Posted February 17, 2013 I have BCBS and the policy says you must be a minimum of 18 months post op. Your weight must be stable for 6 months. You must have medical issues making the removal "necessary' date='" ie skin infections, rashes, etc. I think the BCBS paperwork says it must be not curable with regular hygiene.[/quote'] Yes Cigna too

chrisviele32 1 Posted March 21, 2013 What is mothers apron? Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk / surgery date March 5' date=' 2013[/quote'] It is that pouch of flabby skin under your belly ... It hides your private area..Lol.. on some people it hangs to mid thigh area...it looks like an apron so I assume that's why its called the "mothers apron"
ECUJenn 116 Posted March 23, 2013 My BCBS sent me a letter prior to surgery that said, while we approved you for bariatric surgery you should know in advance that we will not cover any cosmetic surgery resulting from subsequent weight loss. It made me laugh, but I won't always have that insurance HW 344, DOS 320, Surgery Date 2/20/13, CW 297.5 Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk
matalo 0 Posted June 6, 2013 I was lucky enough that my Tummy Tuck was covered and I have BCBS of Mass. It was a long process as it had to be deemed medically necessary, but I got it done back on March 15.

sunshine413 343 Posted June 6, 2013 Oh me too. I am 8 months out, so surgery isn't even an option for another 10 months...I am creating a paper trail for these issues immediately.

kracinski 4 Posted June 23, 2013 I haven't even had surgery yet and my husband and I are saving every spare penny for a Tummy Tuck and my arms. It is sad it's easier to get your boobs done than the mothers apron after surgery.
lisalisalisa 54 Posted August 1, 2013 I had lost the weight myself and had a Tummy Tuck. Unfortunately I gained most the weight back Anyway, BCBS will pay for a tummy tuck automatically if you lose over 100 pounds. That was true for me, BCBS Western NY.
