jenneliza 257 Posted October 7, 2012 Actually is nasogastric. It is a tube that goes in your nose and into your stomach. Used as a feeding tube and/or 'stomach pump'. They measure it to go into a 'normal' stomach. If they tried to force that much tubing into our bellies it could poke a hole, get tangled, or go into our guts. None of which would be therapeutic! They can be done under ultrasound or imaging guidance but not blind. 3 FinerWoman, musicalwonder and KensingtonD reacted to this

Wanda Bragg 8 Posted October 28, 2012 tube down your throat to help you breath. They way to put no blind NG tube on your Bracelet because if you're out cold and they need to breath for you they use an NG tube. It's dangerous to do it blindly for anyone not just RNY patients but, because we have a pouch not the regular stomach we're more at risk of puncture. From what I understand though...it's very difficult to get the ng tube down the wrong pipe...I think an EMT said that on here before but, in a rush it can happen. BAsically thought it is a risk doing it blindly and can puncture our pouch so it's best to let them know. My tag says: Gastric Bypass Latex Allergy No blind ng tubes Husband: (phone number) Home: (phone number) and that's it...that's my 5 lines. If you don't have all 5 lines you can put your name on the first line. For me it was more important they knew about my latex allergy than my name Not to sound mean but NG stands for Nasal Gastric Meaning its a feeding tube. The tube to help you breath is called an Endotracheal tube or ET tube. Again sorry but its the EMT in me coming out. lol

musicalwonder 34 Posted October 28, 2012 Okay. Im just a tad confused. So what would be the best things for the Bracelet? 1 RhondaWilliams reacted to this
droppingitlikeitshot75 35 Posted October 28, 2012 Okay. Im just a tad confused. So what would be the best things for the Bracelet? No blind ng tubes is correct. Anything that they try and pass through to your stomach. As stated before, an ET tube is something totally different. It's what you had when you where out cold being operated on, down your wind pipe. 1 musicalwonder reacted to this

Lebim 381 Posted October 29, 2012 Kaylee where did you get your Bracelet? Online but dont get it - it wasn't deeply engraved and so scratched up it's barely legible - I'm so pissed about it since it cost 40 dollars. Looking into doing an anklet since it'd be a lot harder to scratch - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgiversary: 6/11/12 1 Shonabear reacted to this
