Dr. Spivak's patients .....

Recommended Posts

I had the same thing happen after one of my fills, and did go in for a slight unfill, which helped tremendously. Like you, I was having trouble even getting liquids down and that can lead to big problems that we don't need.

I say call Dr. Spivak's office and talk to either Brenda or Leslie and see what they say. My guess is that they'll have you come in.

Good Luck!

Well, I went to have my first fill today and didn't get one.....for one, the nurse she couldn't find the port entry and I had it with the feeling around with that needle....then she said I had scar tissue. UGH..so after we went through what I was eating and the fact that i"d lost 15.5 lbs she and Dr. Spivak said I didnt need a fill, but I could come back if my appetite changed or to try again.....I'm kinda sad i didn't get a fill........

Yes. Apparently they had 55 rsvp's and did not consider that enough or something. We had a Christmas get together at the office on Tuesday during meeting and about 25-30 folks showed up. It was nice.

And Betsy...happy Bandiversary!!!

I love Dr Spivak but I really wish I lived closer or had chosen a dr close to me. I really would like to go to the support groups and stuff ;) Ah well ... I guess after my "free" year is up, I'll find someone local so I don't have to keep trekking down to Houston - that drive is a killer! (I'm North of Dallas).

Thanks for the update on the party. I hope Dr Spivak knows that it's not personal. For me, I just don't want to buy a fancy dress until I stop changing sizes!

Hey ~

I went in for a fill yesterday and was surprised to find out that Patricia is no longer working for Dr. Spivak . . . I was there last week and she was there, everything seemed fine . . .

Anybody know what happened ??? I am just curious because she was always so sweet to me.

Hey guys,

It's getting close to the end of the year. I was wondering if any of you claimed the cost of your surgery on your taxes last year and if you were successful in getting some money back?

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
