I am a week and 1/2 post op and still can not get into a laying down position. I sleep on my side usually at night, but that hurts horribly! Even flat on my back hurts. I have to sleep sitting up with pillows behind me. It just makes me so mad! I want to b able to lay down gosh darn it! Anyone else have this? Suggestion on when this will b better? Or how to get it better?

I had my surgery the day after you and fortunately I own a Tempurpedic ergo. That's the adjustable Tempurpedic bed. Last night was the second time I tried to sleep my old normal way of side lying and while I can not change position easily I was able to do it without a great deal of pain and tonight it's better still( my bed is in a flat position) . I felt some strain in the upper abdomen at first but it's improving daily whew it's a relief!

I slept in my recliner first 2 weeks post-op. just keep trying, eventually you'll be able to relax you AB muscles in order to sleep in your favorite position. Good luck.

I agree with Kerrie-Ann! The recliner was the most comfortable place for me too! I was able to sleep on the my side in bed with the help of a body pillow.

I slept in a recliner for almost a month. My main incision sight had an infection so it made it extra hard to sleep flat or on my side. Recliner was so helpful!

I have a question. Does anyone else suffer from terrible breath? My husband asked me to talk to my doctor about it but I figured I'd ask here first.

The best investment u can make is to buy a boppy pillow, for nursing moms. I had one from when my son was born and was able to sleep with it around my waist and abdomen and slept so comfortable. I actually couldn't sleep without it.

I'm still sleeping on the couch! I tried the bed and woke up so uncomfortable! I can't wait for the chance to sleep in bed again!

I get the yuckiest taste in my mouth from all my meds being crushed and after I eat as well. I got some sf listerine thin strips today and that's been a lifesaver!

After 1 1/2 weeks I was able to sleep on my side and my stomach but until then I used pillows to prop me up

A couple under my back and one on my side
