Protein Pudding

Recommended Posts

Ok, I do one ready to drink shake a day but I've tried so many different Protein Shakes that you mix and I hate them!!!! I hate the foam too.

I have read where people eat Protein pudding. How do you make it. I had a cup of vanilla sf pudding and I put 1 scoop of vanilla pro powder, it made it runny????? Is that how everybody else does it???

since i have had a tooth problem and a pulling the last few weeks, I have been taking vanilla yogurt (either low carb or greek) and have added a tablespoon maybe a bit more of dry sugar free pudding mix and a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder and stirred it up real good. It would probably be even better blended in the magic bullet or something like that, but I have just been stirring it and eating it and it is like some kind of fancy desert to me. not tooo sweet and does two things, you are eating something and getting the Protein in. I am pre op so I am hoping this will work post op.

good luck

another idea is to make the sugar free pudding with less skim milk add two scoops of protein powder and divide it into four servings and eat those in a day. I am just not sure how long the protein mixed in something is still "good"

You just would want to cool to under 130 before you add the protein otherwise the texture will not be good,

But try it,

I have been using the instant sf ff instant pudding and stirring or blending it into yogurt and it is awesome.

The other night I put about half cup of low fat cottage cheese, vanilla yogurt, and maybe third of the pack of pistachio pudding mix, added a splash of skim milk, scoop of unflavored protein powder. blended it and it tasted like a decadent desert. I am pre op so I may hate this after surgery, but for right now it is helping me get my body ready for surgery. and just trying different things

Vicki - I am so worried about my tastes changing after surgery, because I actually LIKE the RTD shakes and I really love greek yogurt!! Let's hope my lifelong love of sweets doesn't vanish forever! (altho maybe that would HELP not binge!) :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
