You're certainly welcome Milan. Stay committed to getting active and you'll find a way! I walk in a park near my home and I see folks walking with little people all the time - usually the little guys are in something with wheels. Lol. Have a great day!

Hi Milan dnt stress tomorrow I'll be a month post-op and only down 15lbs but I've had a little set backs and was unable to exercise right away. I have a 5 and 3 year old and my fave exercise is to put some music on and we all dance around they love it and it doesn't really feel like exercising but I do break a sweat ;) Goodluck!

Hey Jess929 every little bit of exercise counts no matter what it is :) good to have the kids doing it too!

I had not thought of these options. Get my head out of the sand, huh??? Im down to 289 from 329 surgery day 7/30. I'm motivated and exhausted at the same time. I'm thankful there are people who can help here. Like the wheels idea...

I think one of the worse things we can do is compare our weightloss with everyone elses. I agree with DL.....how do you feel, 5 pounds a week is unreal compared to diets we've all been on before this surgery. You're doing awesome!

I human too and it's so natural to want to compare or check out the losses. When I find myself doing that....I change it up and remind myself this isn't a race, this is my life....and I'm going to do the best I can. I can't see the finish line yet but, I sure know I'm going in the right direction :)

Keep up the great work!

24 pounds in five weeks is almost five pounds a week. When was the last time you lost five pounds a week? Do you really want to lose 10' date=' 15, or 20 lbs a week? Not healthy, not realistic, and not sustainable. Maintain five pounds a week for six months and you'll be almost 150 lbs lighter! This is a journey, not a marathon. And it starts with realistic expectations. You're doing absolutely great! Celebrate your success! Stay focused on following the protocol, stay active, and stay away from the scales for a week and even two if you can stand it. You're gonna love the new you!![/quote']

Well said..I luv this!!! Great Advice! :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
