Angela 9 Posted October 2, 2012 I'm six days out of conversion from lapband to RNY. The divinci robot was used. I'm not in terrible pain but its definatly there. Yesterday when I spoke to the nurse for follow up she stated I really shouldn't be in a lot of pain at this point. Really? Wasn't muscle cut through? I have two major incisions which are swallon, bruised. The area in not red or warm. The way I can describe it is as if you've done many sit-ups and your feeling the burn next day. Can anyone else share their pain level approximately a week out?
Yolyann 56 Posted October 2, 2012 Mine also felt liked I was doing never ending sit ups. But I wasn't red, swollen or warm. Maybe you should have them take a look at it.

1HauteDiva 26 Posted October 2, 2012 I've learned that everyone's healing times are different. Since you converted your surgery your healing time may be longer. I was totally off the pain meds by 5 days out, but my friend that had surgery was on them for longer. You should notice the pain decreasing though, if it's not decreasing I'd definitely go see the surgeon or at least give them a call.
Angela 9 Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks for the responses ladies! That's the feeling, never ending sit ups. I decided to take plain Tylenol today and see how that goes.
BBdoodle 483 Posted October 2, 2012 The first couple of days was really bad, I was on morphine pump. When I went home on day #3 I was OK with the pain and it really was not pain but uncomfortable. And you are soooo right... major sit-up sorness - LOL... you nailed it on that one 10 wks after RNY surgery I had to have my gallbladder removed and that was worse than the RNY - go figure.
