Judeabooo 17 Posted September 30, 2012 Hi I was wondering if anyone knows how long we have to wear our binders for? Monday I will be 2 weeks post op. My husband thinks it may be the cause of my pain sense I've had so many laporscopic surgery's in the past and never had pain like this. Thanks for your help

You are allowed to take it off once you leave the hospital!!
Judeabooo 17 Posted September 30, 2012 A binder is a large elastic band with Velcro on the ends that you put around your mid section. It really helps after sugery. But, when does it stop helping? Does anyone know if its suppose to help with hernias? I tend to bea very prone to getting them! When I asked my DR. I was just told some people wear them for months. kristy3k 1,133 Posted September 30, 2012 I never wore a binder after surgery. My husband had hernia surgery and he wore one for 2 days. Call your dr. They should be able to tell you.
Shrinking Don 365 Posted September 30, 2012 did not have a binder after me surgery
jenneliza 257 Posted September 30, 2012 A nurse put one on me a few hours after and mysurgeon got very upset. You shouldn't need one this long if your surgery was not open. They can also keep you from taking deep enough breaths.
