Anyone feel like they have less sex after surgery? I'm 34 and my boyfriend is 53. He smokes weed everyday too. I felt this way before surgery too but, it seems worse lately. I guess the combo of old age and weed would make a man less likely to want to have sex. But, even if he gets turned on(and I can totally tell he is), he doesn't want to continue or do anything about it. I think I'm becoming more attractive. Maybe he thinks the opposite. Who knows. I've never been with somebody who doesn't want sex on a regular basis. Also, I don't smoke weed-last time I did was maybe 4 months ago, and then a year before that-in case someone was wondering.

Have you talked to him about it? I know it may be uncomfortable, but sounds like something is going on with him. Or maybe he doesn't even think there is anything wrong or realize how u r feeling. How long have you been together?

Thanks for the advice, we're good now. ;). I've never been with someone like him, so different. He's very sensitive and gets his feelings hurt easily so, it's hard for me to talk to him about stuff like this. In my past relationships I felt more at ease with bringing up difficult topics. Maybe I'm learning to be more gentle about these difficult topics through this relationship.

Uhm it could be nothing to do with you but him. My husband is 50 and was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate a few months ago and so to have sex he needs the little blue pill now. Your bf may be embarrassed so he chooses not to all the time because of this. Signs of it were he was going pee all the time waking up middle of the night to go then one day we tried and no getting it up

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
