mytime 21 Posted September 29, 2012 So....have heard from so many people that this is the easy way . It truthfully pisses me off. I didn't tell everyone I was having the surgery so I was talking to my sister which is normally very supportive but she said when they ask how you lost the weight are you gonna lie are you going to tell them you did the easy way out. I told her but this is the hardest saying that I've ever done in my life. I never realized how much food was apart of my life. Does anybody else have this problem...... 1 punk.rock.mama reacted to this

LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted September 29, 2012 You tell them the truth....you're eating healthier foods and in smaller portions, drinking plenty of Water and exercising. They don't need to know about surgery unless you feel you want them to. THIS RNY is far, far, away from any diet I've ever been on. It's taken pre-mental work, pre-research, pre-testing etc and now all the post stuff...post mental stuff, post appointments, blood work, Vitamins etc. Far from easy! We're just fortunate in that we don't feel the hunger that we did prior to the surgery. For a while anyway but, even that will come back but, hopefully we have all the good eating habits we need by then 2 DLCoggin and TinyMamiOf3kids reacted to this

Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted September 30, 2012 EASY craziest thing ever said. THis is not easy. Losing weight is not easy no matter how someone goes about it. I don't know why anyone would think that. Surround yourself with positive encouraging people. tell who you want what you want and know you are doing this for you and it will be a very hard and very rewarding experience, I sure don't think of wls as easy, I think it takes bravery. 1 Cheryl Barfoot reacted to this
mellissaamber 9 Posted September 30, 2012 I totally agree this is NOT the easy way at all. I'm 3 weeks post op and some days I think what did I do? I miss food and I miss drinking a 12 oz glass in minutes not hours! Lol I thought I knew but I had no idea.

But can anyone tell me will I ever be able to enjoy a meal again. I am six weeks past surgery. I can't eat any meat, I sip Water all day. I haven't had any problems but I so tired of puréed soft foods. Someone tell me please this will get better?

cjoyce 187 Posted September 30, 2012 This has been the absolute hardest and most rewarding (other than having my babies) thing ever in my life. One person that I work with made a comment about me taking the easy way out when I was preop....I let it out on her and asked her what the heck her definition of easy was....she kept saying I should just do weight watchers which I had done before....this really pissed me off because watched her lose and gain for the past 5 yrs on And off of WW. she apologized a day or 2 later and now that I'm 3+ months out she completely sees how 'easy' this has been for me..my whole life has changed.....wouldn't change it for anything! Don't worry about the people that don't get it...we are here for ya! 1 Cheryl Barfoot reacted to this
JustJenn 542 Posted September 30, 2012 I was really unsupportive of moms RNY surgery 2 years ago. I told her she was taking the easy way out... Fast forward to present time I have repeatedly apologized for not being there 110% for her, this is by no way the easy way out. I was uneducated and jealous. People don't understand.... Its the hardest and best decision of my life. Surgery 7/25/12 1 kristy3k reacted to this
