I think it depends on the person. I can eat bize size candies (twix, snickers) with no issue.

Interesting. How come I forget to eat not being funny at all but I ate at 8:30am then at 7pm. I forgot lunch. I forgot a snack. If I'm busy I forget to eat. I get really hungry maybe 3 times out of 7 days. I do eat very healthy when I remember meat & salad. Lots of Water.

I hope after I have surgery it is same with me.

I thought I was a lone in this!! I too feel like a bottomless pit around that time and I am 12 weeks out 51 lbs down. I crave salt and chocolate. But it's like I can munch all day! And crave even more! Good luck to you!

I always want wings so just make cut up chunks of baked chicken with bleu cheese and hot sauce. And a Hershey's kiss or two - just suck on them!

I used to crave salty things the week before but, not anymore. What I have noticed is that my nerves or body shakes alot in the mornings until I get my Vitamins in and some liquids. It's kinda scary sometimes actually. I've actually felt like I wasn't in my body if that makes sense?

I started to feel more cold as I lose more weight.

I was cold all the time in the first 3-4 months....then the TX heatwave hit! I have discovered that if I get too hot, then try to quickly cool off, I pass out....I have had it happen twice! It takes me a bit to "come back" from it, and I need a sugar rush to help me, so I have a Peanut Butter cracker (rather than candy or chocolate), and that seems to help.

Jerrie are you sure those weren't hypoglycemic episodes? But I can't stand the heat now even in dead of winter my window is wide open and a fan sitting in it. Because of this my husband has been sleeping on the couch for years now lol

Yeah especially later on in years if it happens when you start getting hot flashes.

And I'm fast approaching that age....my grandma was 36 and my mom was 41 when they started menopause. I will be 40 this month.

I am 43 and only thing I have noticed so far is I can cry at the drop of a hat. Monthly is still on time and the same but there are a couple months I might have one like every 2 weeks. So I think those are signs too

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
