November Dates

Recommended Posts

I've been told by others at support group that weeks 3-6 you can get really tired. After that you get an energy blast. I'm getting close to 80g of Protein a day and all my Vitamins. I'm do for my B12injection but had to push check up a week. So I hope that helps.

Yes it did thank u;)

Ty;)Well had my surgery the 29th. No complications thank god! It was difficult when I came home sunday getting comfortable;( but thankfully i have a great support system who took my kiddos until tuesday and i had time to rest. Finally off pain meds and sipping down liquids not sick at all and started my pureed food today and had my one week post op appointment lost 16 lbs since the day i cheaked in the hospital! Tired and sore, also. Largely because I am only on liquids. Yet I have regained some strength, but the soreness is still there. My surgery was the 27th, and I can't boast the large weight loss yet, but I have lost 12lb, my problem is I have had a very lengthily surgery , that took about 4 hours to do. So I'm still recovering from that alone. Things have gotten better, again, my fatigue is from only being on liquids. In two weeks, I will be eating soft foods, but only at one meal. I still have to have the shakes twice a day, and manage to get in 64 ounces of Water a day. Right now, all I can do is try, try try. SMILE.

I'm at five weeks today and have hit a plateau at 36 lbs down. Any suggestions on how to jump start the weight loss again? Walking at least a mile a day or more. Eating right.....

Maybe incorporate liquids back in a few days a week

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
