Well everyone I made it through. Kinda sore but not to bad. Eating pudding type foods already and home. Ya! I'm drinking alot and am actually liking crystal light lemonade. Did not like it before. My husband was such a trooper for me. He stayed in hospital the whole time and slept in a very small recliner and got up and walked with me. He's so supportive .

Congrats...your husband is very sweet

Oh guys I can't believe you posted that, about sinus! Thought I was the only one! I had antibiotics last week but still have some sinus issues and a cough, totally feel fine, but the lingering cough and sneezing have me terrified they will cancel Thursday's surgery!

I'm still waiting on a callback. I guess I'll call the surgeons office in the am. I hope they don't decide to cancel mind either because of this. I hope it's only allergies. Hubby and I were cleaning today and the dust from storage was something else. I hope this clears up by Wednesday. I hope all of you ladies feel better. :)

Ladies (and Gents, if interested.) ... I had the thought of starting up a clothing exchange. That part of the forum seems to have dwindled down. I think that would be a good idea. What do you all think? Me personally, I've asked for gift cards to clothing stores for holidays, birthday, and v-day that way I can buy here and there without spending much. I'll be doing most of my shopping at the Salvation Army and GoodWill for work clothes since we have a business casual dress code.

Ok now Im 4 days post op. The weight is exploding off at 2.5 pounds per day. I've lost 20 total with pre op. i think part of it is doc has me on Clear Liquids for two weeks post op.Tomorrow Im going to start walking again. Today I pulled out my on-q pump. I also use a heating pad at night in lower back to try to help circulation. I believe it helps a great deal. My wife and I went to the grocery store today. That was a mistake! food, food and more food. Not a lot that any good for you. Lots of obese people as well. Not that Im judging, Im just wondering how bad Americans are getting with overweight. Once I make some progress ill do some pics. My beginning pic is downright scary!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
