We will all be fine. We are praying for you. We will see your happy recovering posts soon!!! Hang in there!!

I'm scared too but more scared I will fail like I always do.

Worm I know you won't fail! We are in this together.... I'm scard too, even though I'm on the losing size now...

It feels great but at the same time I always fail in whatever I did, so I am praying that we will succeed ! I know we will!

:D

Worm I think we share that fear. I worry I am not as strong as some of these other success stories on this board but I am hoping to benefit from all the great advice on here as well as leaning on new friends on this board. I don't know anyone who has had this surgery so this community is great. You seem determined and I know you will do awesome.

Thank I the closer I get the more try to stay away from google. How do People feel about telling people that they r having surgery. I have not told a ton of people but feel like it will be harder as I get closer and I hear people say they got a lot of negative reactions

Dotted, I'm trying to stay away from google too! It has certainly scared me. I've only told my close friends and family. I haven't really had any negative responses. Most just ask why and say I understand and support me after hearing my reasons. My friends and family are so protective that they just want to make sure this wasn't a just because idea. I've only had two reactions that made me know bring it up any further... A coworker was being nosey and noticed I was reading a book on my nook about WLS and decided to give me his unsolicited 2 cents about how if I'm thinking about it, don't because he didn't think I need it. (The nerve of some people.) Thank God for the support if my husband and you wonderful ladies!

Stephanie! I just saw we have the same dr. Dr McCloskey. How was she?? I'm at my preop now.

She was really nice. She checked me in before the surgery and after that I didn't see her at all. My surgery was on a Friday. I remember her saying that she will be in town still if she was needed but there was someone else there helping me out. I don't know if it would be different if your surgery is on a Monday.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
