My surgery is on Friday! Cleaning like crazy tonight! Last day of work is tomorrow! I can't wait to start my new life. My family is all there for me. My boyfriend on the other hand hates the idea of it and is all for the natural way. We have been together for 5 years. I have worked my butt off for years. The natural way isn't working for me! I am doing what I feel is the best thing for me! I will keep everyone updated! Stephanie

Don't worry starrlov, my husband saids the same thing...your boyfriend hopefully will come around when you start losing weight and seeing that the surgery isn't the lazy way out! I m with you on Friday... We're surgery twins...

Hello to all of my November Surgery Family. In less than 24 hours our month and our long awaited surgeries will finally be here..I am so excited, nervous and still in shock that our time is here....I want to tell everyone good luck on their day. Lets all do what we are suppose to and follow the dr's orders so we can all have a speedy recovery...And one last request if and when you feel up to it after your surgery if you could post, just so we know you are ok....Again Im so happy for everyone!!!!!

Well it's our time all Octobers surgeries are over and Novembers are here to start. I want to take a moment to say congrats to everyone as it has been a long road. I'm crystal aka crstalww and just wanted to remind everyone to give us an update when you are out of surgery when you have a moment just to let us all know how you are. Being part of November members means that we are here for each other and we try and support each other no judgement leave that at the door. We are all here for what ever reason and need each other as our journey goes along. Sometimes we also need reality checks we can do that as well. Three rules respect each other support one another and no judgement . Wishing everyone a safe surgery with a speedy recovery may god be with us all and guide and protect us all on our journey. If you don't believe in god then the same quote to whatever you may believe .

The hardest part was the pre op liquid diet. The first few days were hard. I kept telling myself that I've come this far and I can't mess up now.everything else hasn't been bad. I've had no complications.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
