Yep. I guess they possibly they figure that if you bring the information you are truly interested??? It was definitely work but has been worth it so far.

just had my seminar tonight. my doc is very informative. I look forward to hearing back from him for my next step.

Was the seminar scary for you?

no it wasn't scary. ive been doing alot of research and about 11 co workers have all had the procedure done by the same doctor that im having which is the one that put on the seminar. so I was comfortable going in.

I look forward to going onto my next step. the doc gave us a folder of info and an outline of what we have to do. it's bout a 3 month process before we get a surgery date. which right now is good for me cause I have to wait for my short term disability to go in effect at work so I can take time off and still get paid. that goes in effect in january. so in the meantime I can do everything the doc needs to be done.

I am glad you have a positive attitude about the timing process to me that seems the hardest part.

kinda forced to since my short term disability doesn't go into effect til january. but my boyfriend has always told me go about things day by day. this will be a whole new learning experience to take better care of myself and my son as well. my son at the age 10 has been on this journey with me with the eating healthy and going for walks with me. he's a trooper.

That is very wise advise. It is a neat feeling when everyone in the house is supporting you.

nah it's only my son that is being supportive in the house. obviously my boyfriend is as well but he doesn't live here. maybe one day I will go that route of living with him. who knows. I'm in no hurry for anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
