kisersassy 369 Posted October 8, 2012 I am waiting too. Got all my final stuff done last week. Called insurance coordinator at surgeons office to make sure she has everything and if she already submitted or fixing too. Left a message so waiting for her to call back
momemojo 5 Posted October 13, 2012 So I went to the surgeon today and he set my surgery for November 13. It seems surreal. I have the diet completed and all of the appt.'s for psych eval, nutritionist and class for preop scheduled for this Wed. That seems so fast.
Nurse Jen 45 Posted October 13, 2012 Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the millions of appts.....I managed to fit all of mine in the first month. Luckily my Insurance company had no pre requisites that I had to do which was awesome, besides have had 6 months or more of weight loss attempts which my PCP had documented over the years. I was approved by July but had a cruise in September that I did not want to be writhing in pain on so I put it off. But I had to see my surgeon every 30 days and not gain any weight which was so stressful but I made it. Hang in there, it will be overt before you know it. 1 cookier224 reacted to this
A Rose 31 Posted October 13, 2012 I had my 2nd set of appts. I was told that I have diabetes and I am anemic. But the up side is that I lost 4 lbs!
msixkiller 96 Posted October 13, 2012 Just got sleep study, appt with cardiologist, and one more with surgeon to go. The attentive date is Dec 4. Now it is becoming real. Everything else looks real good and it is moving along well. 2 Vicki Loichinger and cookier224 reacted to this
Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted October 13, 2012 There is a lot but it feels so good to check some of these apts off your list. And you are getting a really good check up during the process. Waiting is hard. But it is easier when you feel like you are actually doing something to help the process, like the apts, the nutritionist, and losing a few pounds. You are doing great and everything will fall into place. Big Hugs to you. 1 msixkiller reacted to this
tat2girl1502 16 Posted October 14, 2012 first off.. congrats to everyone that has gotten their dates or has already had their date. I am just in the very beginning of my journey. I have spoken to my primary care doc and got my referral. my appointment for the seminar is on the 16th this month. I have been trying to get ideas of what my journey is going to consist of. I have been reading peoples stories and seems like there is alot to do, and some have had extra steps that some have not had to do. I had gotten a workbook from the library that has given me an idea of what I need to be doing but have been confused after reading some forums. best of luck to everyone

tat2girl1502 16 Posted October 16, 2012 thank you.. im nervous and excited at the same time. my seminar is tonight at 7pm. curious as to why they told me to have my insurance card and doctors name and number.
msixkiller 96 Posted October 16, 2012 When I went to my first seminar, I had to take insurance cards, 5 yrs of medical history, doctor's referral letter, 6 month diet history, and the 5 pages of registration forms. It seems pretty standard for them to request the insurance and doctor information. Looking forward to following your journey story.
tat2girl1502 16 Posted October 16, 2012 oh my goodness. all that just for a free seminar on it. I was only told the insurance card and doc name and number. It seems as though it's depending on who the doc is and who you have for insurance that is determining what requirements are needed.
