Woman Monthly Issue

Recommended Posts

I started my cycle Monday of last week today is Friday, it's been 11 days and I am bleeding very have with large blood clots. I went to the ER Wen. and they just gave my birthcontrol pills to take inorder to stop the bleeding. I am concerned that I will loose too much blood to have my RNY, The birth control pills will cause my blood to clot more after sergery. I don't know why this is starting now, I was think that I could be my nerves, I want the RNY im excited about it as well as scared as *ell but, I'm going through with it.

My mother told me that the woman in my family have a history of this type of bleeding at aroung the age of 40. I just made 39 in August so, I'm just in time for all the fun. Has anyone else experanced this or know anyone that has?

Well don't take the birth control if your fixing to have surgery in the next 30 day. I see where a lot of surgeons request you stop them then. And nerves can change your cycle as well as are you losing weight like on pre op? Because that messes with your hormones as well

I was just given the birth control pills Wen. In the ER, to stop the heavy bleeding and clotting that I've been having for the past three weeks I took a total of for if them, but I'm not going to take anymore. I asked the per op doctor if these were the same blood clots that we all have a fear of after surgery and she said no, and that the two are totally in related.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
