Yup! Same here. Cold about 90% of the time even though it was high 70's outside! Before surgery I was almost always hot.

Yep, me too. The ladies I work with call their hot flashes "personal Summers" I have decided I have "personal Winters" My hands get so cold my touch screen mouse and phone will not register that I am touching them! Brrrr! Saw the Doc for my three month follow up, all my Vitamin levels are great and I am down 60 lbs of insulation. Guess I just have to give my body time to adjust. Lol!

I experienced this for about two or three months post op. it was crazy! I would sleep in warm pj's and a hoodie and two blankets! I was still shivering. I live in a warm climate so my family thought I was nuts.

Im 5 months out now and it seems to have subsided somewhat.

I am always cold after weight loss surgery' date=' and use to be hot all the time, anyone else experience this?

I'm not ALWAYS cold but damn do I get cold way more often - often in situations where I'm the only uncomfortable one. I love it honestly, I hated always sweating when everyone else was fine and wearing jackets is comfy and cute

Personal Summers I love it. Personal Winters sounds appropriate too.

This makes me laugh I always thought my mom was nuts (she's 2 yr post) she is always cold and said its a side effect. I am 9 weeks and haven't experienced this yet. But I can't wait bring it! Better then being a hot mess!

All the fat that was keeping you warm is being eliminated, the more fat you loose the colder you will feel, fat is a good insulator.... you get use to being cold but skinny and that is just find with me - LOL You get cold put on a sweater :) I would rather be thin - LOL

I had exactly the same experience! Must be pretty common because the PA asked me at one of my follow-up appointments if I was experiencing being cold. I didn't take the opportunity to ask her if that was common but from the responses here I'm guessing it's very common!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
