Greek Yogurt

Recommended Posts

I tried the Chobani ones and found them to be very tart. I threw them out.

I use to hate yogurts before surgery n I was also having trouble with the flavor until I started using sugar free jellies in it true I had to get use to a little tartness but now I can't live without it

I love smoothies and like them sweet. My fave sweetener to add to them is stevia and a little light oj. My mix ins are Greek yogurt' date=' spinach, Protein powder, berries, and sometime bananas or almond butter.[/quote']

How do you make dip?

I use plain Greek yogurt with either onion Soup, ranch mix, or spinach dip powder packs. Good for on almost anything! Mixes great with baked potatoes, pretzel chips, etc

I have had a problem since my surgery with sugar content. Anything over 9-11 grams makes me feel ill. I use plain Greek yogurt and mix sugar free Jello with it. Makes a great side for lunches.

Every Greek yogurt I found is loaded with sugars. Even the light ones. How or where can I find any with low sugar and high Protein?

I do Greek now after 8 weeks, Faye for dips n chobani I do with sf jellies, I use to hate them but I've adapted to the taste ill try anything to stay on track.

I found Danon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt. Half the sugar, 7grams, 12 grams Protein, and 80 calories for 5.3 oz. Does not make me sick like Chobani does. Love this stuff!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
