I just bought a fitbit aria scale and I'm having a SUPER hard time syncing it up to my computer. Does anybody have one of these things or know about them? My computer could be the culprit I suppose.

Hahaha, it's like this "smart" scale that wirelessly transmits your weight to the computer when you weigh yourself. And it does other stuff too

I know! Right? That's kinda why I got it, along with the fitbit. It's amazing to see how inactive I am. ( btw, I finally got the darn thing to work)

The fitbit is a device you wear on your correct? It measures how much you've walked or calories you've burned. I think folks think fitbit is your scale. They work together with a program on your computer but, if I recall correctly the fitbit you can clip to your bra or pants for the exercise portion of things..then it interacts with your scale and computer. Is that right?

I hear it's quite a motivator to move.

Yes, you're right. The Fitbit is the little clip thingy you wear. The Aria is a scale. The Fitbit will give you the most information, calories burned, how many stairs you've climbed, how active you are at specific times, (kinda like an actigraphy watch if anyone has ever worn one of those things), what time it is, how many steps you've taken, and how many miles you've gone in a day. The software will give you percentages on this data also. It's pretty cool.

The Aria is a scale that wirelessly puts your weight into your computer (an easy way to track your weight - incase you're like me and forget by the time you get to the computer). It also does some other fancy stuff too like BMI and body fat percentage. The Aria uploads the data and it gets combined with the Fitbit data in the same software.

Because I can't eat anything, I like getting all crazy about the numbers. It gives me something else to do when my family is eating pizza! Although, it's kinda hard to get the Aria to work with the computer but, I finally figured it out. The Fitbit was a breeze to start up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
