I use Pure Protein chocolate powder but, shake it in a Blender Bottle it has a wire shaker Ball so I don't get lumps or clumps when I make it.

The powder has 25 grams of Protein when mixed with Water. I use Hoods Simply Smart skim milk and it adds 10 more grams of protein for 35 in about 8 ounces of Fluid. Yummy when it's nice and cold :)

Hey Jenn, do the yummy ones you mention have lactose? I have a few brands (nectar, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, etc.) that were good pre op, but I can't get them down post op. maybe premixed yummy is the way to go! ????

I looked up the Atkins shakes and they do contain milk. The coffee ones also contain real coffee, so that means they have caffeine, which I can't have. I guess yummy Atkins shakes are out for me. :(

Jay robb whey Protein shakes are awesome! No after taste and not gritty at all. The vanilla if u add 1 tsp of vanilla extract tastes just like ice cream. Especially if u out it in the freezer for 30 min!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
