Lol. So I had my surgery 11 days ago. I've able to eat and it seems handle softer foods that are whole. No completely on purpose. But hubby and I went to panera and I ordered a small French onion Soup and their baguette. So I get home and we eat I eat have my cup of soup with cooked onions in it. I ate was able to handle them. Now I'm starting to wonder if iMm going to fast for my baby tummy!

Has anymore gone through this?

Lol! Yes ma'am! The bread I'll admit was a money of weakness! But of course I didn't eat it all I had some of the insides and let it soggy in the soup! Lol but no bread on a regular basis! :)

So I'm not over working my tummy and moving to fast food wise? I have another 3.5 weeks of the puréed/liquids.

lydia - The only one who knows if you're going too fast would be you. So many of us have had different instructions from our surgeons that it's really hard to say if you're taking in something too much or not. Sounds like you have a handle on "how much" to take into your pouch but, maybe not the kinds of food? Onions can be tough. Are you on the soft or mushy stage of eating? If so everything has to be puree'd or chewed extremely well down to a puree before swallowed. Bread..well I couldn't have that until stage 5 or full food stage and even then my nutritionist said one slice of diet bread and toast it.

But...it's true that everyone has different diet plans..similar but often different. No matter what you eat though chew it well, take small bites and make sure it's super moist and you should be good. :)

Good luck!

I'm on puréed foods until I see my team on Oct 11.

But I'm going to relax with the speeding up and focus I what I put in Water Water water Protein Protein. And just give my baby tummy time to heal. I believe DL posted something about our inside taking longer to heal. And Lord knows if I went through this process and I did something stupid to mess it up...I'd be pissed at myself! :)

So just sticking with puréed until i get the a-okay! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
