Tired_Old_Man 1 Posted February 2, 2007 I heard last night that the 21,500 troop surge is actually going to add between 35,000 and 48,000 more soldiers, marines and MP's to Iraq. The difference is in logistic and support troops. It takes about one support soldier for every combat soldier in today's military.
bitteroldhag 0 Posted February 10, 2007 In past wars, it took about 20 soldiers to support one combat soldier. Maybe we'll get lucky and the surge will be support soldiers.

Betsyjane 2 Posted February 17, 2007 So...it's only 21,000 troops if we subcontract the rest to Halliburton.
