I haven't had surgery yet but I do have a question. My lower belly has dropped and was wondering when I lose weight will I have to have a Tummy Tuck? This has happend from having two kids and not working out. Has anyone else out there in lap land have this problem? Will most of it go away? Iam so excited about this surgery and Iam running out of questions. I'll be glad when I get my new insurance cards so I can get this ball running!

Ooooh, aaah, what you want is someone to say something encouraging like "of COURSE, it'll all disappear" but really, there's loads and loads of people on here who've needed tummy tucks.

STill, it all comes down to genetics and luck I think, you may have amazing skin that snaps back. Its good to be optimistic and positive, but just with a touch of realism, knowing that a washboard stomach will probably not just magically appear.

Good luck!

Alas - a dropped belly doesnt usually defy gravity to snap back. I have that same problem. I am assuming I will have to get PS in order to ever have a flat tummy.

I am saving for that, now. :]

Reality is Reality If I do not loose the fat my belly will not sag. Its something to deal with. As a guy I never had any idea about dealing with cosmetic issues.

I was wrong

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
