Hi Everyone

I'm one week into this new lifestyle & it's been going pretty well. I think today I was hit with some head hunger, just started crying because I wanted to eat something with texture & taste!! It almost felt like baby blues!! Being home with my two young girls 4 & 20mos is hard at the moment because i'm still trying to heal, so I'm unable to get on the floor & play or drive!!! But I'm taking it one day at a time!! I took a hot shower, had a good cry & washed it away!! I look forward to the soft food stage!!! I'm dying for some flavor..thank god for great Soups at Trader Joes!!!! Thanks for listening!! :-)

Ooo I hope you feel better soon!! My worst fear is getting sick!! The Protein is tough for me also!! Tomorrow I'm going to try & mix it & pop it in the freezer for a few mins to really chill it!!! I'm having a hard time falling asleep also!! At night my hubs & I would eat late & then desert late..basically into a food coma!! So know we have stopped all that I can't fall asleep as easy!!! But all these little things are just a speck in the bigger picture :-))) bring on Scrabbled eggs!!! Ha

I have heard some people freeze it into popsicles and it makes it easier to eat. Jay robb is a very good tasting brand. Otherwise, as long as you are getting in your Clear Liquids you will be fine.

Well I am new to this forum my friend told me to check it out, so here I am... I just had my surgery on Sept 7. Doing pretty good. Getting along with the Protein Drinks fairly well. Just tired of the sweetness of them. Blah... Maybe that will take care of my lifelong sweet-tooth. I have lost 16lbs thus far. Not complaining by any means. I am sure it will take time to feel/realize the weight leaving my body. So initially when I started this process it was about three years ago. At that time I needed to jump thru some flaming hoops that I wasn't ready to do. But through the course of events in my life, I jumped through fairly easily with out a lot of effort. I started at my heaviest weight of 293lbs yikes still hard to believe.. I quit smoking and lost 50lbs by way of a pelvic surgery and acid reflux. Which caused me to change my diet. So now having the surgery is another path in my life. I am excited. Now I think one of the hurdles is the time for the weight to come off. There so much pre- surgery work to do. That now I am having a little difficultly seeing the prize. But my eyes are on it...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
