I guess we are in the same stage. I have my psych eval tomorrow and then they will submit everything. Praying they say yes and I get a date.

I hope they say yes to you as well! It's crazy that they even have an option to deny us. Especially if we have health issues that this would benefit. My clearance eval was pushed back from 10/12 to 10/31 do to a conflict at the drs office. Which is frustrating me.

I remember going through this process. I was a basket case in some ways. I was sure I was going to be denied, since it had happened 6 years previously. I refused to invest too much into the surgery until I got the approval, but part of me still believed it was going to happen, so I was very conflicted. I went and bought clothes to show to myself that I had faith it was going to be approved but refused to donate my old clothes until after I got home from surgery because I was afraid something would still happen to prevent surgery even after I got the approval. We all have issues and fears connected with this, you are so not alone. Yes I am now 3 1/2 months out, but now my fears are different and I still have to practice putting my fears in their places etc.

Keep asking questions and we will keep helping. Keep sharing your feelings and we will keep supporting, that is why we are all here. Feel free to ask me questions personal or otherwise and I will be glad to answer, I am an open book. The psych eval made me nervous but honestly most therapists (and being one I think this is overall the truth) are there to help and if you are honest and open you will be fine, Remember they meet with people all the time going through the same process so nothing you say or feel will surprise them. Good luck on the eval and just be yourself and you will be fine, I am sure of it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
