Molly1978 6 Posted September 18, 2012 I'm on my first day of eating yogurt, sugar-free pudding, and cream of wheat/rice ( second week post-op). My instructions are to eat 3, 2 tablespoons to 1/4cup meals per day ( besides Water and stuff from the first week). Well, I did really well for the first two, eating cream of rice for the first two meals (eating slowly) but then for dinner I ate a whole Greek plain nonfat yogurt! Which was obviously more than 1/4 cup. Probably 1/2 cup or a full cup. I ate it over maybe 15 mins excpecting to eventually feel full at some point but I didn't! So, what do you think? (I had Rou-En-Y)
Jen in SoCal 189 Posted September 18, 2012 Believe it or not, so soon After surgery your stomach may not be healed enough to know when it's full. At this point you have to seriously measure everything you eat. You'll be ok. Just be careful next time. Hey, at least you got some Protein in you! 3 Molly1978, DLCoggin and Bert_n_ernie reacted to this
Tammy483 162 Posted September 18, 2012 Yup, your sensation to feel full hasn't shown up and yogurt is a slider.. Go slow and measure.. As Jen said.. At least you got some Protein in! Good luck! 2 DLCoggin and Molly1978 reacted to this
BBdoodle 483 Posted September 18, 2012 Its real important to measure so you get a good visual on what that portion looks like. I bought a cheapo scale in Bed Bath and Beyond for like $20, and I measure everything, after a couple of months you can just eye the portions but at first its good to do EXACTLY what your doctor says, it take a long time to heal. 2 Molly1978 and DLCoggin reacted to this
Molly1978 6 Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks guys! Good advice! I feel better. I didn't know that my stomach may not be healed enough to know when it's full or not. Do you know about when it might be healed enough to know when it's full?

DLCoggin 1,788 Posted September 18, 2012 Everybody heals differently so it's tough to put a time line on when your pouch will start talking but rest assured it will. For now, measure everything you eat, and never eat less than two hours or more than four hours apart. Before you know it you'll be amazed at how little you can eat before feeling full!! 1 troy mcnair reacted to this
