Hello,:-) today is my first day on this. I've been reading a lot of the posting and find them very helpful and very interesting. I'm learning how to use it so please be patient with me. :-) So here I am. My starting weigh 347 lbs. My surgery was on August 28,2012 and I'm feeling great! Yes it was hard to lose the weigh before surgery but I did it cause I was determine to get this done. I lost 30 pounds in 3 months. :-) Then after surgery I lost 13 more. I was in the hospital 2 days and I never felt any pain. I felt sorness but no pain. But I made sure to press that button every time that light turn on. So it was time to go home now. My sister picked me up and took me to her home and took care of me. Thank goodness for sisters :-) Stage 1 went good. Lots of broth, SF Jello, SF Popsicles, decaff tea and Water, water, water. Don't forget to sip. Stage 2 was good too. Still ate some of stage 1 stuff but now on pureed diet. (Low in fat and no sugar). I ate broil chicken, vegetables...really soft, egg, fruit and started drinking my Protein Shake. I went to Walmart and bought the whey Protein Drinks because it has 52 grams. The strawberry and chocolate with Peanut Butter tastes pretty good. Now I'm on stage 3 a soft diet and still feeling good. Oh and remember to take your Vitamins and minerals please. So...now I can start chewing my food...yay!

Its still the same food & etc but I don't have to pureed. I'm still doing a little of stage 1 because I love jello, Popsicles and decaff tea. Today... I always start with my Protein shake so I know I got my 52 grams to start the day. I added 1oz of banana in it...pretty good. lunch I ate mozaralli string cheese with turkey rolled around the cheese. Snack-sf popsicle and for dinner I had a yogurt and if I get a little hungry later I'll eat a couple of pieces of fruit. I'm pretty much full all day. I have my doctor visit on the 24th of this month and ill have to do my blood work two days before to check if all is well...keeping my fingers crossed:-) . Well I hope I didn't bore you all with my story.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
