zephyr 48 Posted September 17, 2012 Lovenox is for the prevention of blood clots. I don't believe it has anything to do with BMI. Because I can't walk I was supposed to take the shots for a month after surgery. However, because I had 2 bleed outs in the hospital and required 2 pints of blood, they decided not to put me on Lovenox since it is a blood thinner. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

These injections are to help prevent blood clots. You do not want a blood clot. I had. Loos clots on both sides of my lungs on 2006. I was bless that I did not die.
