A Little Help Please.

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 months out and I've lost about 70 lbs. I always get between 65-70 grams of Protein per day. I get in at least 64 ounces of fluids, I workout with a trainer 3 times per week, I log my food on My Fitness Pal, and I usually have around 1100 calories per day, I also wear a Fitbit to keep track of my activity, and I can not seem to get below 210 lbs. Are my calories to high? I can not figure out what to do. I'm so down hearted and feel as though I may fail at this, too. Comments and suggestions are welcomed.

I am 5 months post op and just got out of my slump. I was 176 for like three weeks, I increased my intensity of my workouts from speed walking to jogging now. Got my heartrate pumping and I got myself out of the slump, I workout 6 days a week. My starting weight was 214 and I am 173, so a total of 41 lbs. I am a bit dissapointed in the numbers too. I thought by 5 months post op I would be at least at 150.

my nutrionist said I should stay at 800 cal a day until i get to my goal weight then I can go up to 1000 to maintain. I would ask your Dr love and see what s/he says

I doubt that 1100 calories a day is too high with everything else you're doing. Sounds like a stall. How long have you been at 210?

I think it sounds like your doing great! You seem very determined. I need to get in that mind set. I am 2 weeks post op and have lost 14lbs. Buy havent seen budge in the scale for a few days. I'm getting nervous I'll be at a stall and I'm just beginning!

You didn't mention how long this stall has been. My nutritionist said it's not a stall until you've hit 3 weeks. Otherwise keep doing what you're doing if you're following your docs plan and the scale will move.

I have been fluctuating between 213 and 210 for the last 2+ weeks. After being a failure at every diet, I am afraid I will fail at this, too. Just nervous I guess. Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond. I love this group!

What does your doc say about calorie intake?

I have noticed that I stall on the scale, but inches are coming off. I have been in a stall for the past week, but I was able to comfortably fit into some new jeans that were tight a week ago. Maybe have your trainer measure and try not to get wrapped up in the scale.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
