hajones5891 133 Posted September 12, 2012 Anyone have to pay anything to insurance before surgery? I'm freaking out that I will have to pay before surgery.
kisersassy 369 Posted September 12, 2012 I am not sure yet if I have to or not. I do know that I have paid all my deductible for the year and have met my out of pocket max
luvlife 43 Posted September 12, 2012 Yes, one week prior I had to pay 1000 dollars. U can ask your surgeon's office, they should be able to tell u.
ginna 4 Posted September 12, 2012 I got lucky. 5 months before surgery, my husband started a new job and his insurance covered my surgery 100% otherwise I was looking at $1500 down. Your insurance company or surgeons office should have let u known from get-go though,
bekki03 51 Posted September 12, 2012 It depends on how much coverage you have. I have the highest covereage (pay the most out of each pay check ) and I had to pay $147 by the day before surgery. I had already paid 77 dollars towards my deductable. They make you pay up front because it is "elective" surgery.
BBdoodle 483 Posted September 12, 2012 I did not have to pay anything before surgery. I received a bill from the hospital for $250 which was my co=pay for the hospital stay. That arrived about a month after surgery.
Mrs.D 39 Posted September 12, 2012 I have PPO insurance, Covers 80%. I got a bill for 2700- my surgery total Was around 54,000.
tamihill 24 Posted September 12, 2012 I didn't have to pay anything to the hospital. I had to pay 442.00 to the surgeon for his fees. But that went towards my Ins. I got my EOB the other day and surgery, hospital, pre-op and anethsia was right at 18,000. A lot less than I have seen as far as surgery.

kisersassy 369 Posted September 12, 2012 With my insurance I don't have a Co pay. Just a 100 deductible which has been met and a 750 out of pocket Max which has been met so I shouldn't have to pay anything
