I was told to be careful about cracker chips, pretzels, etc. as they are a "slider" food and don't give you that full feeling. I'm 6 months out and just now have tried Pork rinds. I absolutely loved them. I ate a couple with a meal though. Somehow I have managed to not snack inbetween meals.

I love how incrediably different all the surgeons/nutritionists. I was told to eat 6 times a day. And Protein at every meal.

I really miss the crunch of foods' date=' ie like potato chips or tortilla chips. I'm looking for something that will satisfy my need to crunch. It's kind of like having the munches with no idea what to munch...any suggestions?[/quote']

What I do for crunch is mix pistachio nuts (my ultimate fav) and soy nuts (not my fav by any means, but generally tasteless and extremely crunchy)

I am not saying this is a go, but would be interested if this would be doable after several weeks after surgery:

I love the glenny's bbq protien chips, I get mine on Amazon.com by the case. I like to make tuna or egg salad

and use the protien chips like crackers. I have done this after band and just when on a high Protein low carb diet and even now waiting for RNY would love to hear what others think about this

I don't know at what stage carbs come in, but for now my diet is all veggie/protein. Looking forward to trying all these options some day. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and input, I appreciate all of them. KA

After looking at their nutrition label - http://www.glennys.com/soy-crisps-barbeque.html - I don't see a problem with these at all. Low calorie, low fat, low carb and 4.5g of Protein per serving. Heck, even the sodium is relatively low. However, take note that the "Servings Per Container" and "Amount Per Serving" are blank on the nutrition label shown on their site. The bag is shown as 3oz and the serving size on the label is shown as 18g. 3oz is 85g so there are 4.7 "servings" in one 3oz bag. The copy on the webpage says "9g Pure Non-GMO Soy Protein" but according to the nutrition label, you would need to eat two 18g servings to get 9g of protein. My point is not that even two servings would be out of the question, it would still be low calorie, carb, etc. But manufacturers often have an element of "confusion" built into their marketing - the devil can sometimes be in the details!

The bags of Glenny's Soy Crisps that I ordered from Amazon are 1.3 oz. ea.-- 2 servings each with 70 calories, 5 gms Protein and 9 gms carbs. The protein quote on the front of the bag is 10 gms--not per serving, but per bag. So, yeah, it can be misleading if you don't read carefully. I love to spread homemade hummus on them, or even tuna salad made with Greek yogurt!

My surgeon said 3 meals a day, Protein (eat first), vegetable (eat second), fresh fruit (eat last), carbs once per month in moderation.
