JustJenn 542 Posted September 10, 2012 It's been a rough time for me also I had the hardest time with commercials and the food network. I always said I'm an emotional eater but then that month of hardly any food I quickly realize I'm a food addict. I just love food. I needed to find a balance and eat to live not live to eat. BBdoodle 483 Posted September 10, 2012 Right after surgery for some strange reason I would watch Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the food looked great and I wanted to taste everything but was still on liquid. Once I drank something the food craving went away.

PaulB 346 Posted September 11, 2012 When I got home from the hospital I watch the food Chanel man v food all the cooking shows. My wife ask why I would do that to my self. Becuse I know I'm addicted to food and like to eat what I cook. But going to a support group showed me how to get by with eating a little and not being a pig. jenneliza 257 Posted September 11, 2012 I've been watching more food network than ever before! It is definitely a challenge to say no to food. And just had my first vomiting spell from eating chicken too fast today. A few hours later and my pouch still hurts! It's amazing that food can have such a hold on us! speedydvr 25 Posted September 12, 2012 Today sucks!!!!... I've been doing so good and then for the past few days I've been feeling as if this was the biggest mistake I could have done. I don't see a change even though I've lost 60+ in 45 days. food used to be something I enjoyed, I loved to cook, be creative in the kitchen and now I could care less. food now is just something I dread, I'm just so tired of all of this 1 PaulB reacted to this

Enough protien? I know from prevoius (useless) attemps to lose weight that i if make the food that i am allowed to eat look one the plate it made me enjoy the food more. Even now, im on the puree stage i try to use attractive bowls, make the puree look good ( if that is possilbe! :-) ) and basically make my meal special. What we cant eat any more with our mouths maybe can be made up by eating with our eyes. I hope you feel better, maybe you could find some bariatric reciepe books that could make cooking fun again. Bert_n_ernie 60 Posted September 12, 2012 Try watching something like kitchen nightmares or a show that shows disgusting filthy kitchens. Then you will realize you're not really that hungry. I too still have days where I miss food and wish I could just pig out, especially this past week. I haven't lost anything. I never realized how strong of a hold food had on me till after my surgery. Little by little its getting easier. I still crave certain things but for the most part I hate food and dread eating cuz I don't wanna puke. But I cane to the realization that just Becuse I can't eat all of it does not mean I can't cook for the rest of my family and friends. Now I am learning to cook health food that taste just as good. If I may go get the weight lose surgery for dummy's cook book there are some great recipe in there. This Fourm has some really good recipes and the web is full of great one just waiting to be tryed. Don't give up you made the right decision having WLS you just have to find new ways to enjoy it. I'm stealing these word ( life's a Journy not a destination ) it what we do along the Journy that matters. And how long we are around to enjoy the Journy. Give it time we all want to be skinny yesterday I want it to come off faster and it will come off just do what the doctors say and weigh your self (1 time a week THAT'S ALL) and you will see the weigh then drop off. Weighing your self 2-3-4 times a day will get you depressed Hang in there Surgery Anniversary 7/30/

Surgery Anniversary 7/30/12 I work for the reservations desk at US Airways...and I got to talk to Adam Richman! He is wicked cool. But watching his show makes me want to do the challenges and I have never been a competive eater...I know before surgery I would have gotten sick. After surgery I would never even consider it. But it doesn't stop the want. 1 JustJenn reacted to this
luvlife 43 Posted September 16, 2012 Hang in there. 60 pounds is fantastic. You may not be able to see it yet, but we all have a lot to lose. I have only lost a total of 47 pounds. Feel good about yourself. You have came a long way! Try and find creative meals to cook with what we can eat. They have a dummies cook book that I have heard great things about. In a month from now just think of how much more weight you will have lost! You will see it in yourself soon, I am sure of it. 1 sweethonesty261 reacted to this
